Kazakhstan International School (KIS), an IB World School, is seeking a qualified and enthusiastic Elementary EAL (English as an Additional Language) Teacher to join our dynamic and growing team in August 2025.

Position:
Elementary EAL Teacher (Full-Time)
Start Date: August 2025
Location: Astana, Kazakhstan

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide language support for students in Grades 1–5 who are developing proficiency in English

• Collaborate with classroom teachers to differentiate instruction and ensure access to the curriculum

• Design and implement developmentally appropriate EAL lessons based on student needs

• Monitor student progress and maintain accurate records of language development

• Participate actively in school life, including planning meetings, professional development, and community events

Requirements:

• Degree in Education or a related field

• Qualification or certification in Teaching English as a Second/Additional Language (e.g., TESOL, TEFL, CELTA)

• Minimum 2 years of experience working with EAL students in a school setting

• Experience with or understanding of inquiry-based learning (PYP experience preferred)

• Proficiency in English (spoken and written)

• Collaborative mindset and cultural sensitivity

Desirable:

• Experience in an international or IB school

• Knowledge of second language acquisition strategies
