The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) in Minsk is announcing the position of

Protection Field Officer

Protection Field Officer contributes to the implementation of the ICRC protection activities. The purpose of this position is to support the ICRC Minsk Mission protection activities and to contribute to the work of the Protection department of the ICRC Moscow regional delegation. Protection Field Officer supports the implementation and monitoring of the ICRC Restoring Family Links activities, ensures that the visitors and/or callers leave with a positive impression of the ICRC and that ICRC understands the visitors and/or callers’ needs and can respond to them appropriately.

Function description:

• Carries out Protection Family Links and Protection Civilian Population activities under the supervision of the line manager.
• Identifies and monitors a variety of public sources that are relevant for the ICRC protection activities (with specific focus on issues, faced by the affected civilian population), in order to alert on risks and opportunities.
• Analyses and contributes to written internal reporting and activity programming (as part of institutional exercises).
• Helps to make internal and external meetings meaningful (through preparation, participation, reporting and follow-up).
• Participates in internal and external meetings, develops and maintains contacts with municipal/regional authorities, Belarus Red Cross, international organizations and local population.
• Collects, compiles and translates/interprets protection-related information and contributes to written reporting.
• Prepares, participates in and reports on all aspects of field assignments.
• May participate in internal and external meetings or briefings on ICRC field activities.
• Ensures the sustainability of their work and puts in place a system for archiving their work for the purpose of institutional memory.
• Fosters a conducive environment (multidisciplinary approach, good team dynamic) among team members.

• Follows up on all work-related correspondence.
• Is aware of the Mission’s and the Delegation’s objectives and has a good knowledge of the Movement and other contacts relevant to the position.
• Represents the ICRC in an appropriate way during activities, in meetings and in the field, and avoids any activity that may reflect negatively on the ICRC’s image.
• Takes responsibility for their own professional learning and development regarding ICRC institutional online courses.

Required skills:

• University degree.
• 3-5 years’ previous professional experiences in the field of social/legal/political/economic science or similar.
• 1-2 years’ experience with the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement or another humanitarian agency is an asset.
• Good knowledge of English (C1).
• Russian language.
• Computer skills (proficiency in MS Office).
• Driving license (category B) is considered as an asset.(travelling nature of work)
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills.

Terms and conditions:

• Temporary service contract till the end of 2026 year, 13th salary, medical insurance.
• Place of assignment: 6, Volodarskiy str., Minsk, Republic of Belarus (work in the office).

• Employment under the Labor Code of the Republic of Bela

• Monthly salary 3494 BYN before taxes.
