Role Purpose:
The Senior Manager, Capital Formation & Investor Relations is a senior individual contributor responsible for driving the end-to-end fundraising cycle across Alem Capital Management. The role combines origination and conversion of institutional and private LP relationships with the institutional-grade investor relations infrastructure required to support a growing LP base across multiple fund vintages. The Senior Manager operates with a high degree of autonomy and is expected to represent the firm credibly at senior LP level, while working in close coordination with the VP of Capital Formation, CEO and cross-functional teams.
Core Responsibilities:
1. Capital Raising & LP Origination
- Own and drive the full fundraising lifecycle across target LP segments — institutional investors, sovereign wealth funds, family offices, and HNWI — from initial sourcing and outreach through to executed subscription agreements.
-
Develop and maintain a disciplined, CRM-based LP pipeline with clear funnel stages, conversion metrics and activity tracking; provide regular pipeline reporting to the VP of Capital Formation and senior leadership.
-
Lead LP negotiations on commercial and structural terms of fund participation in coordination with the CEO and Legal counsel, ensuring alignment with fund documentation and AIFC regulatory requirements.
-
Maintain accountability for fundraising targets, close timelines and first/final close milestones as agreed with the CEO and Board.
-
Identify and pursue new LP channels and geographies, with a focus on Central Asia
2. LP Relationship Management
-
Serve as the primary relationship owner for a defined portfolio of LPs post-closing, maintaining regular proactive communication across the fund lifecycle.
-
Build trusted, long-term LP relationships anchored in transparency, consistent reporting and responsiveness, with the explicit objective of positioning the firm for LP re-up commitments across future fund vintages.
-
Systematically capture and channel LP feedback — on strategy, reporting, governance and market positioning — to the CEO and senior investment team to inform fund development and investor communications strategy.
-
Manage LP Advisory Committee logistics, including agenda preparation, materials coordination and follow-up action tracking.
3. Investor Communications & Marketing Materials
-
Lead the development, maintenance and quality control of the firm's full suite of fundraising and investor communications materials: pitch books, fund teasers, one-pagers, LP FAQs, and coordinate quarterly letters and annual reports.
-
Ensure consistency, accuracy and strategic coherence of the fund's investment narrative across all LP-facing communications and touchpoints.
-
Tailor materials and messaging for distinct LP segments — institutional allocators, sovereign entities, private capital — with appropriate calibration of risk, return and mandate framing.
-
Coordinate with the investment team to ensure fund performance commentary and portfolio updates are accurately reflected in all LP communications.
4. LP Due Diligence Management
-
Coordinate and project-manage the LP due diligence process end-to-end: DDQ compilation and quality assurance, virtual data room setup and maintenance, and cross-functional response coordination across Investment, Finance, Legal and Compliance.
-
Maintain a master DDQ library and institutional knowledge base to ensure response quality, consistency and efficiency across concurrent diligence processes.
-
Track diligence timelines and proactively manage LP expectations throughout the review process.
5. Investor Reporting
-
Act as the primary interface between the LP base and internal teams on all reporting matters, including fund performance, NAV, cash flow (capital calls, distributions), portfolio updates and material fund events.
-
Ensure LP reports meet ILPA standards and the firm's disclosure obligations under applicable LPA provisions and AIFC regulatory requirements.
-
Coordinate with Finance and the investment team to ensure accuracy, timeliness and appropriate framing of all periodic and ad hoc LP communications.
6. Roadshows, Events & Market Presence
-
Lead the planning and execution of LP roadshows, investor days and targeted fundraising events, including agenda design, materials preparation, logistics coordination and senior management preparation.
-
Ensure systematic follow-up after all LP interactions — meeting notes, next steps, CRM updates and action tracking.
-
Represent the firm at relevant industry conferences, LP forums and regional capital markets events to build brand visibility and source new LP relationships.
Qualifications & Experience
-
6–9 years of progressive experience in capital formation, investor relations or fundraising within a private equity, venture capital, fund of funds or institutional asset management context.
-
Demonstrated track record of contributing to successful fundraising closes with institutional LP bases.
-
Deep familiarity with LP due diligence processes, fund documentation (LPA, PPM, subscription agreements) and ILPA reporting standards.
-
Experience working with or within AIFC, DIFC or comparable international financial centre regulatory frameworks is an advantage.
-
Exposure to alternative asset classes including digital assets or emerging market private capital is a plus.
-
Excellent presentation skills.
-
Strong negotiation skills.
-
Experience preparing preliminary investment agreements/proposals.
-
Bachelor's degree required; CFA, CAIA or equivalent postgraduate qualification preferred.
-
Fluency in English and Russian required; Chinese is a plus.
