The Ministry of Preschool and School Education of the Republic of Uzbekistan is seeking a motivated, responsible, and well-organized candidate to support the coordination and implementation of grant-funded and internationally supported projects in the education sector.
I. Background
The Ministry is implementing and preparing a number of education reform initiatives with the support of international partners and development institutions. These projects require effective coordination, timely communication with stakeholders, preparation of project documentation, and regular follow-up on implementation activities.
The selected candidate will work as a Project Coordinator / Co-Coordinator within the Ministry and will support the implementation of grant-funded projects, cooperation with international partners, and coordination with relevant government agencies.
The position requires strong communication, organizational, and drafting skills, as well as the ability to work in a multilingual and multi-stakeholder environment.
II. Key Responsibilities
The candidate will be expected to:
- support the coordination and implementation of grant-funded and internationally supported projects in the education sector;
- assist in preparing official correspondence, analytical notes, project briefs, presentations, meeting materials, and other project-related documents;
- coordinate with international partners, development institutions, government agencies, and other stakeholders;
- support the preparation of project concepts, terms of reference, technical documents, implementation plans, and reports;
- assist in organizing meetings, missions, consultations, and working group discussions;
- prepare minutes of meetings and ensure timely follow-up on agreed actions;
- monitor project activities, deadlines, and deliverables;
- collect, analyze, and summarize information required for project implementation and reporting;
- support communication between the Ministry, project partners, consultants, and relevant organizations;
- perform other tasks related to the coordination and implementation of grant-funded projects.
III. Qualifications
Education
- Higher education is required.
- A Master’s degree in Economics, Public Administration, International Relations, Education, Law, Finance, Project Management, or another relevant field will be considered an advantage.
Experience
- Relevant work experience in the public sector, quasi-public institutions, international organizations, consulting companies, or project coordination is required.
- Experience in projects implemented with international partners, donor organizations, or development institutions will be considered an advantage.
- Experience in the education sector, public administration, foreign investment, grants, or international cooperation will be an asset.
IV. Skills and Competencies
The candidate should have:
- good understanding of project coordination processes;
- strong drafting and analytical skills;
- ability to prepare clear, structured, and professional documents;
- good organizational and communication skills;
- ability to work with government agencies, international partners, and consultants;
- attention to detail and ability to manage several tasks simultaneously;
- responsible, proactive, and result-oriented approach;
- ability to work under deadlines and follow up on assigned tasks;
- basic understanding of grant-funded or internationally supported project implementation.
Languages
- Fluency in Uzbek, Russian, and English is required.
- Knowledge of other foreign languages will be considered an advantage.
