Job summary:

Electrical Systems Director leads and oversees the planning, design, development, operation, maintenance, and optimization of the airport's electrical systems and infrastructure, ensuring safe, reliable, efficient, compliant, and uninterrupted electrical services to support airport operations and future expansion

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the Electrical Engineering and Maintenance team, providing direction, guidance, and support to ensure the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of all electrical systems and equipment.
  • Develop and implement maintenance and engineering strategies, plans, and programs aligned with the organization's operational and strategic objectives.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable industry standards, regulations, codes, safety requirements, and organizational policies.
  • Collaborate with other departments and stakeholders to integrate electrical engineering solutions into wider organizational initiatives and development projects.
  • Manage budgets, resources, and expenditures related to electrical engineering, maintenance, and infrastructure projects.
  • Recruit, mentor, develop, and manage engineering and maintenance personnel to build a high-performing and technically competent team.
  • Monitor developments in electrical engineering technologies and identify and implement relevant innovations to improve system reliability, efficiency, safety, and sustainability.
  • Represent the Electrical Department in meetings with internal and external stakeholders, senior management, consultants, contractors, and regulatory authorities.
  • Oversee the maintenance and operational readiness of critical electrical infrastructure and systems, while supporting the optimization of facility layouts and critical operational systems.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related engineering discipline.
  • Minimum 10–15 years of progressive experience in electrical engineering, maintenance, operations, and infrastructure management, preferably in a large-scale or complex facility environment.
  • Proven experience in managing large multidisciplinary teams, with the ability to lead and oversee approximately 100 employees.
  • Experience in the operation and maintenance of critical electrical systems in a 24/7 operational environment.
  • Strong knowledge of applicable electrical codes, standards, regulations, health and safety requirements, and industry best practices
  • Fluent written and spoken English.
  • Professional engineering certification or membership in a recognized engineering institution is desirable.
  • Previous experience in airport infrastructure, aviation, transportation, or other mission-critical facilities is highly desirable
