About the Company

Specific-Group is an international software development company that provides high-class custom software solutions for corporate clients in Europe and the USA. Our offices are located in Austria, Germany, USA, Lithuania, Poland, Spain, Belarus, Vietnam, etc. We're focused on clients from the financial sector, however, are strongly engaged with other domains: insurance, healthcare, automotive, public media, AI, etc.

Currently, we are planning to open a Manual QA Engineer to join our team in Minsk, Belarus.

Project:

You'll become part of our SPG delivery team working for a leading food logistics company (Germany). The client runs a warehouse management system built on AS400, which is currently being modernized module by module. There's no fixed QA process yet: you'll have real ownership in shaping how quality assurance works here from the ground up.

Team setup:

You'll join a 6-person team — three AS400 developers, a business analyst, a project lead, and a part-time frontend developer — as the team's first dedicated Manual QA specialist.

The first months:

– Months 1–6: get the internal AI testing framework running and producing real value on the web-interface test cases (~20% of the load), with backup from the QA Lead.

– Beyond that: with a ~3-year runway and no fixed QA playbook, you shape what comes next — repeatable regression coverage across the modernized modules, and how QA operates on the team. Those milestones are yours to define.

Required skills:

• Solid testing background — test case design, exploratory and regression testing, defect documentation and triage;
• Comfortable working with legacy environments; understanding of RPG/CL/Cobol/DB2 system logic is a plus (no coding required);
• Ability to independently set up and operate a new testing tool, with backup support available rather than step-by-step instructions;
• Steady, patient approach — around 80% of the work involves AS400 green-screen (terminal-based) testing, and this is the core of the role, not a temporary phase;
• Upper-intermediate level of English is a must (spoken, written);
• Analytical, structured and solution-oriented work approach.

Your profile:

• Strong testing core — case design, exploratory, regression, defect triage — with real screen-testing depth.

• Comfortable in legacy environments; understanding RPG/CL/Cobol/DB2 system logic is a plus (no coding required).

• Can stand up and operate an AI testing tool on your own.

• Steady temperament: ~80% AS400 screens is the job, not a phase.

Responsibilities:

• Testing the AS400 system for regressions and functional correctness — manual and automated approaches — as the legacy system is modernized piece by piece;

• Independently setting up and running the internal AI testing framework for web-interface test cases (~20% of workload), with backup from the QA Lead;

• Proactively defining what gets tested — no pre-built checklist is handed down;

• Reverse-engineering undocumented legacy logic (with the help of internal AI tooling) — an ongoing, core part of the role;

• Logging findings in Jira; routing client-specific questions through the BA/PM.
