Nauchsoft is an international IT consulting and software development company. We have been in the IT business for 37 years and continue growing.
We are looking for an experienced Senior AWS Cloud Engineer to join a long-term enterprise cloud initiative focused on improving the reliability, governance, and efficiency of a large-scale AWS environment.
This role is prospective and has been created in line with the company’s planned team expansion.
The client operates a mature cloud platform that has evolved over time without a centralized cloud architecture or governance model. As a result, the environment is highly functional but lacks consistency, documentation, and standardized operational practices.
This is not a greenfield implementation. Instead, you'll take on a strategic engineering role—assessing the current environment, identifying improvement opportunities, introducing cloud best practices, and helping the client build a scalable and well-governed AWS platform.
If you enjoy solving complex cloud challenges, optimizing enterprise environments, and influencing technical direction, this role offers an excellent opportunity to make a lasting impact.
Why Join This Project?
- Work on a large-scale enterprise AWS environment supporting critical business operations.
- Influence the future architecture and governance of a mature cloud platform.
- Drive cloud optimization initiatives with measurable business value.
- Establish governance, security, and operational standards from the ground up.
- Collaborate directly with the client's engineering team as a trusted technical advisor.
- Mentor cloud engineers and share best practices across the organization.
- Long-term engagement with real ownership and technical influence.
About the Environment
The platform includes:
- 20+ AWS accounts managed through AWS Organizations
- AWS Control Tower
- 100+ Amazon EC2 instances
- Amazon S3
- Amazon RDS
- AWS IAM
- Azure AD SSO integration
- Existing CI/CD pipelines
- Early adoption of Terraform Cloud
- Cloudflare implementation planned for public-facing services
The infrastructure is production-ready but continues to evolve. Current priorities include strengthening governance, improving operational consistency, optimizing cloud costs, and expanding Infrastructure as Code practices.
Responsibilities
- Assess the current AWS environment and identify improvement opportunities.
- Design and implement governance standards across multiple AWS accounts.
- Configure and improve AWS Control Tower and AWS Organizations.
- Develop cloud security and IAM best practices.
- Introduce cloud cost analysis and optimization processes.
- Support Infrastructure as Code adoption using Terraform Cloud.
- Provide guidance on Azure AD SSO integration.
- Advise on Cloudflare implementation for public-facing workloads.
- Mentor and support the client's cloud engineering team.
- Collaborate with technical stakeholders to improve cloud architecture and operational maturity.
Required Skills
- 6+ years of experience in cloud engineering or infrastructure engineering.
- Extensive hands-on experience with AWS.
- Strong knowledge of:
- AWS Organizations
- AWS Control Tower
- IAM and cloud security
- Multi-account AWS environments
- Experience with Terraform, preferably Terraform Cloud.
- Hands-on experience with AWS cost optimization and governance.
- Experience integrating Azure AD with AWS.
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
- Previous experience working directly with customers or international engineering teams.
- Excellent communication and mentoring abilities.
- English level sufficient for daily communication with international stakeholders.
Nice to Have
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional.
- Experience with Cloudflare.
- Experience working with enterprise cloud governance frameworks.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and cloud automation.
Working Environment
This is a remote, long-term staff augmentation role where you will become an integral part of the client's engineering organization.
The position combines hands-on cloud engineering with technical consulting and mentoring. You'll work closely with cloud engineers, technical stakeholders, and infrastructure teams to improve the overall maturity of the client's AWS environment.
This opportunity is ideal for engineers who enjoy improving existing cloud environments rather than simply building new ones.
You'll succeed in this role if you like:
- Assessing complex cloud infrastructures.
- Solving large-scale operational challenges.
- Defining engineering standards and best practices.
- Optimizing cloud performance and costs.
- Mentoring engineers and sharing knowledge.
- Working closely with customers and influencing technical decisions.
We offer:
- Opportunity for professional self-realization and growth.
- Friendly team.
- 25-days of paid vacation.
- Medical insurance and 100% payment for sick leave.
- Professional training and obtaining certificates at the company's expense.
- Foreign language courses and other corporate programs.
- A variety of corporate events.
- Bonuses in case of wedding or a child’s birth.
- The possibility of remote work from any location.
