Senior QA Architect (Full-time remote job)

We are looking for a Senior Quality Architect who has specific experience with the type of problem we are trying to solve.

We have a B to B to C product that is used by 50 clients and about 1 million end users. We need to be able to scale to 100’s of clients 10’s of millions of users. The product has over 5,000 configurable options that allow each client to turn features on and off as they require and also to configure the work flow and options for each feature. We release new versions of the product every month. The product currently has over 2m lines of code. It is C#, .Net, Windows Server, MS SQL server, Orchard (CMF) and we use Bamboo, Jira and Confluence. The product also has native Android (Java) and IOS (ObjectiveC) apps that go along with it.

Each client has a highly configurable backend system (not our product) core processing software that is highly configurable and we must adapt to each clients configuration. We also integrate through SSO’s to about 100 third parties.

Currently the system is hosted on AWS and also there are a few onsite installations (we may stop support for this).

You will:

• Define a test strategy that optimally combines unit, integration, api, automated ui, and manual testing.
• Review, select, implement, monitor automated test tools and static code analysis tools.
• Design a framework for us to test against many client back end systems early in the development cycle.
• Design and implement a efficient and highly automated and parallelized automated testing framework integrated into our CI process
• Oversee automated and integrated measurement of code coverage and other important metrics
• Define and monitor standards for the development team to ensure high quality code
• Your work will substantially improve product quality by allowing us to find and fix a much higher percentage of bugs before the product is delivered to manual QA or to clients.

We need:

• A design for how the final system should work.
• A plan for how to get to the final design from where we are today.

Required skills:

• 5+ years experience designing and developing complex automated testing solutions for web applications including:
  --> Experience with automation framework design, API testing, efficient UI testing.
  --> Experience with one or more continuous integration tools (e.g. Bamboo).
• Experience designing test strategy that combines unit, integration, API, behavior and UI tests.
• Strong knowledge and understanding of SDLC & Continuous Delivery and Continuous Testing.
• Exposure to automated native mobile application testing (Android and iOS).
• A firm grounding in the agile methodology of project management.
• Strong written and spoken English.
• Excellent communication.
• Experience in working remotely as part of distributed team.

Bonus skills:

• Knowledge in performance testing and security testing.
